DEVELON crawler excavators, previously manufactured under the DOOSAN brand, are working at an increasing number of mining enterprises every day. This is due to the four core values embedded in every DEVELON machine: low operating costs, reliability and durability, operator comfort and safety, and ease of maintenance.

The new 100-ton DEVELON DX1000LC-7 excavator is ideal for working in coal mines. This model is specially designed for continuous and trouble-free operation in harsh conditions. Special attention is paid to strengthening the wear points of the excavator, which significantly increased the reliability of the machine and prolonged its operation. The excavator also has a heavy-duty front structure with additional reinforcement at key stress points. The new DX1000LC-7 excavator has the highest turning torque in its size class.

The exclusive D-ECOPOWER excavator system helps to increase productivity and save fuel. The hydraulic system precisely controls the oil flow and optimizes the available engine power. The efficiency of the system not only increases productivity, but also reduces fuel consumption.

The cabin of the DX1000LC-7 is equipped with an 8-inch LCD monitor with a touch screen, providing good visibility and easy access. The optional 360-degree all-round camera system (AVM) displays a complete overview of the machine’s environment, giving operators greater confidence when positioning and operating the machine in a confined workspace. From a separate AVM monitor, you can see five visual perspectives: top view, rear view, top view + right, rear view + angle and 3D view.

The new excavator comes with unlimited access to the DEVELON Fleet Management telematics system. The system allows owners of machinery and mechanical engineers to remotely monitor the location of the machine, operating hours, fuel consumption, engine operating time compared to working time and error codes, as well as the temperature of the engine and hydraulics.

The DEVELON DX800LC-5B excavator is designed to provide maximum performance and unsurpassed performance, durability and incredibly high fuel efficiency.

The high-power DX800LC-5B engine provides economical performance and low maintenance requirements. The boom/turn priority control system allows the operator to control the operating modes at the touch of a button for comfortable and productive work. The new electronic main pump accurately calculates the pump flow required for each drive, ensuring faster operation and optimal performance, as well as preventing unnecessary fuel losses.

Fuel-saving technologies include intelligent power management (SPC) and a highly efficient cooling system. The SPC allows
the machine to provide optimized control of engine crankshaft speed and torque depending on different
workloads, thereby reducing unnecessary fuel consumption. This is enhanced by a larger radiator for greater capacity and a higher cooling rate.

On-site safety and increased operator comfort have been an important focus in the development of this new series. New LED work lights ensure safe operation after dark, and the all-round View monitor (AVM) provides
the operator with a clear 360° view from inside the cabin. The hose rupture protection system prevents secondary accidents as a result of falling
boom/lever, which can be caused by a sudden rupture of the hose.

The heavy-duty two-stage dust cleaner prevents damage to components by dust and contaminated particles, together with the standard automatic lubrication system (AGS), significantly reduces maintenance time. For added convenience, the water separator, pre-fuel filter and main filter are grouped together to minimize maintenance time, extend engine life and prevent machine failures. Inspection and maintenance of the machine are simplified and become safer due to the presence of a single access point and a wider podium

Develon  has launched the new DX17Z-7 zero tail swing and DX19-7 conventional Stage V compliant mini-excavators. Both new models provide significantly increased performance, versatility, operator comfort and easier maintenance than the previous generation machines they replace.

Both models are powered by the Kubota D902 Stage V compliant diesel engine providing a 20% higher gross power output of 12.1 kW (16.2 HP) at 2400 RPM. The engine also offers a 25% larger displacement and a 29% increase in engine torque to 54.6 Nm at 1900 RPM, translating into high overall reliability and reduced strain on the engine and other components. As well as increased efficiency, the Kubota D902 engine is well-known for its high reliability, ease of maintenance and long service life.

Versatile and Durable Upper Structures

Featuring the new shared global styling for the next generation Develon mini-excavator range, the novel platform design and new upper structures in the DX17Z-7 and DX19-7 provide increased durability and robustness. The compact dimensions of both machines make them ideal for work in confined spaces on construction, landscaping and utility projects.

Both the DX17Z-7 and DX19-7 have a 1.75 m boom and 1.03 m arm as standard, with an optional longer 1.23 m arm available for both models. The DX17Z-7 has a cast 180 kg counterweight as standard with an additional 85 kg counterweight for use with the optional longer arm. The tail swing radius in the DX17Z-7 has been reduced by 6.5% to only 645 mm compared to the previous model. The tail swing radius increases to 720 mm when the additional 85 kg counterweight is used. An integral 65 kg cast counterweight is used in both the standard and longer arm versions of the DX19-7.

The front assembly in both the DX17Z-7 and DX19-7 is protected by cylinder guards to avoid collisions or any kind of potential damage, with an optimal hydraulic hose layout which runs through and is protected by the boom structure. This reduces the risk of hose damage and failure, minimizing the need for repairs and downtime and increasing equipment productivity and efficiency.

Flexible Hydraulics

One- and two-way proportional flow is provided as standard with easy access to the selection valve. Flow is easily controlled via a thumbwheel on the right hand joystick, providing better flow control and increased operator convenience. With quick coupler piping already available on both models, the operator can switch to using a quick coupler by pressing a safety button on the left console – bringing up a warning message on the 5 inch digital display in the cab to notify the operator, who can then simply push a button on the right hand joystick to begin quick coupler work.

The DX17Z-7 and DX19-7 are both equipped with retractable 230 mm tracks, where the width between the tracks can be automatically reduced from 1290 mm to 994 mm and both machines have a foldable blade. This allows operators to adapt the width and dimensions of the mini-excavators to navigate through narrow spaces. This is accomplished by pressing another switch, which allows the operator to use the blade lever to adjust the width of the tracks. The adjustable width allows operators to distribute the weight more evenly, reducing ground pressure and providing increased stability while digging or lifting. The retractable tracks are also convenient for transportation.

The DX17Z-7 is available as a canopy machine, whilst the DX19-7 can be supplied with either a canopy or a cab. Both machines share a common set up for the joystick and switch controls.

For enhanced control for the operator, the Travel Speed Switch is integrated with the travel control levers, providing quick speed adjustment and improved controllability. The travel speed pilot lamp lights ON on the 5 inch digital display ensuring that the operator is aware it is engaged.

The new 5 inch Digital Display replaces the simple gauge panel on the previous models and shows important operator information on the screen. The information includes safety features, such as warning indicators for issues with the machine announced with a buzzer sound. Maintenance intervals can also be monitored on the display, contributing to proactive maintenance and minimized downtime and repair costs.

The cab version of the DX19-7 has a radio, providing entertainment and a comfortable environment for the operator. The DX19-7 cab is supplied with a heater as standard (with air circulation via three air vents), ensuring excellent conditions for the operator in cold weather and extending the working season. Working with the door closed, no noise and dust enters the cab. A fast defrost system ensures permanent clear visibility and a safer working environment. This also prevents temperature related damage such as moisture build-up. The heater switch is positioned on the right hand side of the console – it has a two step operation between Low and High fan speed.

A mechanical suspension seat is standard for both models, which can be multiply adjusted to take in the differences in body shapes and sizes of operators.

LED lights and a rotating beacon are also standard on both models, promoting safety by enhancing visibility for the operator and by alerting other personnel on site, providing a secure and comfortable working environment in all lighting conditions. The DX17Z-7 has an LED lamp as standard on the boom, whilst the DX19-7 has a light on the boom (in both the canopy/cab versions), with another light on the top of the rear section of the cab in the cabbed version.

X-CENTER

The core of the Concept-X project is the X-Center, a management system that gives the user a one–time overview of the equipment on the construction and work site. The terrain of the work site is viewed using scanning performed by drones, and the data obtained is modeled in three-dimensional format to create work plans based on them.

Data collected from different sites are analyzed to compile instructions for automated equipment and integrated equipment management. In addition, the Fleet Manager fleet management system in the X-Center system gives the user the opportunity to remotely control and diagnose machine data for effective management and support. These data include the condition of the excavation, the route and planning of the work area, the location of the equipment and the working condition, the condition of the main parts and the detection of abnormal signals.

FULLY AUTONOMOUS OPERATION

Construction equipment with an unmanned automated solution can perform work accurately and quickly by receiving analyzed data from X-Center. The working movement of unmanned vehicles is most effectively created using actual data from experienced operators to achieve maximum productivity.

The unmanned excavator developed by Develon has a recognition, evaluation and control system. The unmanned excavator recognizes the environment using various sensors mounted on the excavator and autonomously evaluates and executes local work sequence plans, movement trajectory and driving routes. The unmanned excavator performs its work safely and accurately based on a collision and rollover prevention control system. The unmanned wheel loader has the same system as the unmanned excavator. The automated wheel loader autonomously draws up and implements additional work plans using remote control and transmission of information about the working condition of the equipment and workload.

FORECASTING AND CONDITION MANAGEMENT (PHM)

Unforeseen equipment failure leads to significant economic losses and serious risks at the construction site of the future, where fleet management (integrated management of several groups of equipment at once) will soon become commonplace. Forecasting and condition management is a technology that provides self–diagnosis of construction equipment and allows users to receive advance notification of a possible malfunction, so that work in any conditions is carried out without delay.

Automated equipment with PHM has a comprehensive self-diagnosis function and the ability to detect and analyze the load on the main parts and functions, as well as monitor their condition in real time. PHM performs proactive risk management by predicting the remaining life of the equipment by checking the history of changes in the states of each part, as well as the current state of the equipment as a whole.

FULLY ELECTROHYDRAULIC CONTROL SYSTEM

The DX225LC-7X control system allows the use of advanced machine control systems, including 2D and 3D profiling with the possibility of updating for precise excavation and layout. This leads to a revolutionary increase in productivity and efficiency.

This technology gives operators additional help when performing precise tasks. Functions include lifting assistance mode, ground slope setting, turning assistance, turn restriction, virtual wall settings, lifting assistance mode and weighing system.

POWERFUL DIGGING AND FAST CYCLE TIME

The DX225LC-7X model offers excellent hydraulics and a strong working group, providing sufficient power and durability of the handle and bucket, increasing the load capacity. Choose one-touch acceleration to dig into very durable material. Fast cycle time, precise rotation function and cast push link with lifting eye, providing a load capacity of five metric tons, will help you get the job done faster. The model offers a conventional rotary tail design and an optional bulldozer blade and is available in standard or long boom configurations. The standard counterweight design provides strength and stability.

OPERATOR COMFORT

Additional features provide first-class comfort for operators during long-term work on complex construction sites. The DX225LC-7X is equipped with an improved heating and cooling system with an optional heated/cooled seat. The cabin suspension system dampens vibrations and absorbs shocks. Standard features include an easy-to-use joystick, a rear-view camera and a Smart Touch screen that displays all important information. Add an optional 360-degree all-round camera system (AVM) to the package for a full view of the car’s surroundings.

Super-hard and wear-resistant plates designed for heavy-duty use are bolted to the end of the boom of the machine, which ensures maximum durability and reliability of the machine. By minimizing the distance between the bucket and the handle, they maintain a high pull-off force and provide greater productivity.

Other durability features include a robust workgroup with stronger castings and forged steel pivot points, a heavy-duty X-shaped chassis undercarriage and an innovative D-channel upper frame design, as well as additional side impact protection that increases strength and allows you to withstand more side impacts.
